Hee-hee. Beautiful. Thanks for the full "picture," Leif.
I love that the word for clamp in Great Britain is cramp. A C-clamp is a G-cramp !
(What IS it with those people ?) [smiley face]
Hey -- THIS craftsman "takes the privilege" of rejecting unworthy material. I'm not normally a me-firster -- but at the lumber yard I look at every piece and take the prettiest boards. I figure, it's the same amount of work whether the wood is good or not, so why not use the best ? I imagine you guys do the same . . . ?
Actually, the fault in that teak board could have been sawed through, by the maker, and re-glued ? I'm a bit surprised that wasn't done.

SDR: I am pretty sure the board appeared solid when it was made; it was just a weak spot that had glued itself together with resin.
Finished piece:

Just gorgeous, Leif. Who would ever guess that the legs aren't original? I'd bet you can't stop looking at them twice, though! ;^)
What's the secondary wood?

Sweet, sweet. I suppose every do-it-yourselfer wishes they could really do it themselves, as you can.
Not that I encourage gloating . . .
But, go ahead, if you feel like it ! And then do another restoration. And show us all the glorious details, please.

SDR: I will. Not that I encourage gloating.
Tktoo. The back of the case is teak veneer plywood, and bottoms of the drawers are teak veneer plywood. But all the rest: the case, the apron, the legs, the drawer boxes, are all solid teak. It is quite glorious. And looking at it Aasbjerg's work is what made me realize how much of the style of modern furniture is built on plywood and particle board. It is simply not possible to build a single piece back of any size the would not have wood movement problems. But I have digressed....

Bravo! Fantastic job, Leif I wish I had your talent!
One question: did you use "vintage" or "new" teak for the feet?
