I found this table at a local thrift shop and I know nothing about it. It's signed IHQ which is Quistgaard but when I googled "dansk table" or "Quistgaard table" this particular design doesn't show up at all.
Does anyone know anything about this table? I would love to know the name of this design, date of the design and how much it's worth. It looks like some kind of bleached oak wood but I'm not sure. The underside of the table top has a smaller spinning lazy susan part attached. It's roughly about 20" high with a 19" diameter.
Thanks!

That is a rare one, great score! there were only about 200 produced. Last one at Wright fetched about $3000

I bought it for $15!
Thanks so much for the info. Do you know when Quistgaard designed it or the name of the table?

Not oak.
Southeast Asian tropical hardwood. Possibly Ramin or related species.
I don't understand why the lazy susan is fixed to the stretchers. It seems like it might have been intended to be loose for alternative use at the dining table.

I don't understand that lazy susan part either. I thought maybe you can remove the top and use it by itself on a bigger table, like those you find in a chinese dim sum place.
Anyone if it's really worth about 3K I'm just speechless, it's easily my best find ever!

Is winding you up. But still a neat little table. It looks like the screws were added later, and the legs are meant to be collapsible.

Hey jdip
I contacted Wright Auction and they said they have never offered this table. Do you remember exactly which auction house that had this table? Thanks!

Rubberwood, its an interestin...
Rubberwood, its an interesting use of redundant plantation wood, one of the few ethical tropical hardwoods.
And a nice piece too.

I've just seen this in a local secondhand shop
but was unbranded and had black plastic wheels (those you find under
computerdesks), it to had the lazy suzan.
I'm located in Belgium and can't imagine dansk products were sold here recently..
I like the simple design, but not to fond of the rubberwood (it ages in
greasy spots, I've noticed).
