I love your Derval, too,
Paulanna. Thanks for posting the pics.
In other news, I'm eyeing an HG wall unit for my new pad on which I would be able to display some of my pottery. I have two boxes already so I figure I have to fill in the rest rather than get some cheapo bookcases.

Bitossi?
Hello all you experts. Has anyone seen a tall square vase/umbrella pot like this from the Bitossi factory? I picked this up from a local thrift store for $15. It is 17 5/8" tall and 7" wide on each side. One sticker on the bottom reads ' 44/45 Made in Italy ' and the other sticker reads ' The Bay - $30.00'. There are no other markings. It has an orangey/red glaze.

Inspired
I don't have any pottery groupings, but after seeing this thread, I'm sure I'll start pulling one together. Many of these pieces gain strength by comparing and contrasting.
And there are stand-alones, such as this one. I picked up at auction recently. Hand hewn and rough. No signature. Of course if anyone wants to send me off in some search direction aside from 'brutalist' I'd be grateful. Then maybe it will have some friends.
My compliments to all of you.
PS. Edited by me, my photo share is bugging'.

I'm jealous
of everyone's beautiful collection.
So far mine consists of two lonely pieces. No clue who made the taller one. It stores all of my old matchbooks.

That's a nice big Bitossi piece. Their output was rather prolific and some designs and sizes were better sellers than other. Pieces that size are harder to find. The impressed decoration is totally Londi.
Like your pieces too LCA, the volcanic glazes are great.

i am assuming rosewood knows that 'the bay' sticker is possibly from iconic retailer 'The Hudson Bay Company' in canada 😉

anybody recognize?
i like this thread....thanks for the peek everybody!
If anyone has any suggestions on
1st pic... black with white striations candlestick../ it is unmarked but has a small spot...a glue tattoo so to speak on the bottom...to remind itself of the sticker that once clung to its nether regions 😉
2nd pic...have no info on either piece...the bottom of the red pot has the same fat glaze and treatment as the body....
3rd pic...says 'italy' in black on the bottom...

beautiful piece. The BAG on the label should be for Alvino Bagni. But you probably knew that already.

found! today!
after weeks of picking up broken piece after broken piece, could NOT believe my eyes when I saw this sitting on a shelf at the thrift shop. Nice touch under the felt..."Raymor". Good luck figuring out who designed it. like?
