Hello everyone,
I own a vintage Eames wire chair without any cushion and I'd like to add a bikini cushion to make it more comfortable.
A new cushion is not affordable to me and reproductions are hard to find in germany. So the best optiuon for me would be sewing it on my own respectively to let it sew as I have some very talented tailors in my family and access to all kind of fabrics and leathers.
The only thing missing is a pattern of the bikini cushion. So I'm asking if anyone here has a pattern or could create one.

Shell chair seat cushions?
I'll echo the request for patterns, any one have one for an Eames shell armchair? I've heard Bertoia is a nice fit?
I have bolt holes (sigh)

Buy a new one,
draw around it, pack it up and return it.
Boom. Done.
Alternately, look at photos online, determine the points at which the cushion meets the edges of the chair, figure out the angles of the lines that don't follow the edges of the chair, make a kraft paper pattern and adjust it on the chair until it looks right. Examine photos to see how the binding is done (if there is binding, I haven't researched this one myself), determine how tab fasteners (?) are done. Sew a mock-up in cheap canvas. Make necessary adjustments, then make the actual cushion.
I would do it the second way. Heck, I HAVE done it the second way with cushions for Saarinen tulip chairs and other things. Many other things, come to think of it, but then I enjoy this kind of challenge.

Cheap felt
is probably a better pattern material than kraft paper for this. You can buy it at any fabric store.
