I'm not sure about what looks like the applied wood strip but if its in good condition go for it. I'd say no, ust being conservative but it'd be sorely tempting.

My opinion of Adrian Pearsall sofas
has been forever colored by the one that I bought with the intention to reupholster it for my daughter, who liked the shape of it. In removing the old fabric, I found that it was made rather strangely with cheap, thin plywood where there should have been webbing. Also, some parts were upholstered before assembly, making it much harder to reupholster than a sofa made the conventional way. I ended up getting rid of the whole thing.
Now I see them and just think how junky they are.

craigslist
had an appointment to pick it up his morning but canceled as I realized that this will probably never fit in the elevator of my building. I thought it was pretty cool.

In the right setting? ... No, not ugly.
Looks pretty great paired with that cocktail table.
The room in the picks looks suitable, but set up backwards, IMO. The sofa's back to the fireplace makes no sense to me.

pics above
are the pics that are posted on craigslist in the add by the seller. I am sure someone will scoop that sofa up today if not for themselve, than to resell it.

I had a similar one I just...
I had a similar one I just sold for $900 on CL.
I like his work. BUT... this sofa maxes out the funk factor.
If you have one, the rest of your furniture better be high end and simple or it screams...
I ONLY HAVE THIS SOFA BECAUSE I CAN"T AFFORD SOMETHING ELSE.

aunty
its like a brash aunty that comes for lunch, stays for tea and is still there when you're ready to go to bed.........at first you're quite pleased to see her.......eventually sometime soon after lunch you'd wish you hadn't answered the door.

Could be.
For what it is, it's well proportioned and thoroughly competent -- and it certainly goes with that coffee table ! Some people would probably kill for it.
The applied wood is integral to the effect, I would say, in carrying out the theme.
