The Birdie is a modernist style lamp designed 1952 by Birger Dahl for Sønnico, Norway. These wall lamps are cone shaped and made of black painted metal and brass fixings. In 1954 the table lamp of the Birdie-series was awarded the highly esteemed Golden Medal at the Milan triennale.

Adjustable neck to left and right, upwards and downwards.Birger Dahl (1916-1998) was a pioneer of Scandinavian lighting and head of design at Norwegian Sønnico for ages. What was so special with Birger Dahls designs was strict geometric shapes, such as circles, cones and cylinders which he softened with gentle contours.
