I'm almost certain I've seen these on site before but can't remember where or when. Bought them at a content sale where the former owners were of Polish decent and the switch on one of the lamps says: made in Poland.
One is made from painted glass shelving and the other is an odd shaped piece of wood which looks purposely slanted and uneven so it wouldn't really hold a glass in place. The shades are hideous but seem strangely right.
Love to hear if anyone knows about them?
Ta.

Tables
I quite like the bottom table I would be amazed if they where the original shades, I would think an industrial style metal shade in the style of Jielde or anglepoise would suit better.

I love an oddity
and these certainly qualify. I'm always on the lookout for something different for my interior design clients and since my specialty is alternative resources design I've seen it all from a dusty afghan strew Paul Evans brutalist sofa (which I snapped up for a mere 100.) to these lamp tables which immediately set off my quirk radar. The fact that the dealers and pickers were circling as I carried them out to my vehicle somewhat validated my purchase.
Agree with Arthur Sixpense about the shades. It was the tables themselves which drew me in.
Here in Toronto the pickin's are slim for affordable mcm as the dealers seem to have an entourage of seasoned pickers working all the watering holes.
