Before the spelling police...
Before the spelling police jump on this, its actually FrederiC Weinberg and also often mistakenly(?) spelled Frederick Weinberg.
A google image search brings up some nice examples of his work. And to stay on point, here's the wall clock

those Weinberg clocks
They're really cool, but since the root of the clock is a Nelson ball clock, I can help thinking they kinda of a reproduction....couldn't he have come up with a more original basic concept?
It's kinda like taking a Ray Eames Time-Life stool and turning it into a floor lamp, isn't it?
More info?
LRF, can you give me more info (model numbers, etc.) on either or both of your last two (the Mastercrafters and the Welby with the wood points)?
I'd like to find one of those two to put above my fireplace (my wife and I just bought a mid-century modern ranch with a stone fireplace that's just BEGGING for a starburst clock!)
mwb
the masterclock number is 542 and it is very light aluumium in brass color with black face
the welby has no model number it is wood with a white face both bought 10 years ago on ebay
I think for the fireplace one that you might like is the nelson star
I have the original from 1959
vitra sells it for 340.00 white on white 150.00 and all world when he stock sells it for 69.99 and that is a great deal
also the turbine clock sells at vitra for around540.00 white 150.00 and all world 85.00 that clock is in stock at all world
any one of these clocks would look great on your fireplace,
you never know what you would find on ebay
Thanks, LRF
The Mastercrafters clock is the closest I've been able to find to what I originally had in mind. How wide is yours across the points? I've found one on ebay that's 30in across the points, but I think that may be a little big for the space.
I really want something that is star shaped (I don't like that the points on the Turbine are "bent") and has exactly 12 points (seems logical for a clock, no?)
A lot of stuff in our house is gold toned (including the fireplace doors), so something like the Masterclock or the Welby would fit in nicely.
This is the fireplace where the clock will hang (the statue, speakers, and flowers belonged to the previous owner):
Thanks for your time!
Mike

It is exactly 30 inchs across it is a very light
weight clock as it is a brass aluminum , it is a great master craft clock, that and the welbys are great, and for some reason have gotten hard to find,
also check some of the westclocks,
When i was buying them years ago they use to have 100s when ebay first started, but lately they have gotten harder to find.

He has a lot of cool starburst clocks that might be
what you are looking for if you can not find the one on ebay
