I had my Bertoia large diamond lounge chair covered in Knoll Cato fabric. Looked great, survived years, parties, and toddlers. Then it met the new puppy, who promptly unraveled a good chunk of the cover.
It appears that a new cover from Knoll or the online Knoll resellers will cost something in the neighborhood of $1250, which is pushing it a bit. But it's an unusual kind of cover, half cover half upholstery, and I haven't found an upholsterer who can replicate it.
I have seen companies which make replacement pads for Bertoia chairs, but never a full diamond cover. Any ideas?
VinnyV, I have the same problem
No-one besides Knoll, including eamesbikini.com, makes the full cover. I love the chair with a full cover as it makes for a very comfortable chair. Both retromodern and Highbrow are charging about $1250 for the cover...it's a cover...that seems a bit crazy.
I can buy the Knoll fabric and go upholsterer to upholsterer...that is probably next step. Many thanks!
From Highbrow's own website:
bertoia large diamond(tm) chair full cover replacement $583
And, as mentioned earlier, February 2-8, 2009, there's a 15% off Knoll sale, so the cover will be $495.55.
