Is the mini chest line also considered a failed reissue?

Yes, or at least I think so. I had dealer friend who was completely jazzed about this reissue. It took several tries before one shipped intact. In person they did have a slightly cheap feel to them - but that could have been die to knowing how much it costs and the feel vs the price. For all I know the originals weren't any better... but I've never seen an original.
