Thanks for this post. It's new to me and answers the question of who made these two end tables. I've never attributed them to McCobb. Having handled enough McCobb pieces, I knew that they were not by him, but the similarities were disconcerting. I left it at "in the manner of..." They are well made, but the exposed fasteners make me pretty sure now that they are by Furnette Industries.

Furnette or Furn-a-kit maybe
It's hard to tell from your photos whether they are chrome or brass.
Furnette's later incarnation Furn-A-Kit did a line of "chrome-polished steel, glass and wood" in 1969 (image attached).
None of the designs depicted in their advertising directly match what you present here but I am sure there was more to it than the few scant images shown in their advertising copy.
The end table on the right reminds me of some of the work Milo Baughman did for Murray Furniture but those pieces used brass and the table on the left is way too recent to have been a part of the Murray Furniture group.
