I have a shop in Hemet, California, and have come across a group of chairs that I cannot identify. They came in with a Pair of what seems to be Moller Arm Chairs, so I think they could be something (came from a Palm Springs Estate) but I have researched for HOURS and cannot find this mark. The Moller are a clear match to the 66 Chair, making them simpler to identify. These others have an actual trademark, but I can't figure out what the trademark is...the mark is a diamond on its side with a large C and capital B inside the C. The CB chairs are smaller dining room chairs and the backs are like a rectangular shape (wood is carved smooth and roundish) with the top of the back being smaller and gradually getting larger toward the seat. Pegged legs, seats look like leather or fake leather, they are like a burnt umber, an orangish-red-brown color. Simple cushion that comes off the edge a bit in the front. Thank you in advance for any information anyone may be able to provide or point me in the right direction. Mary

YES
Yes, we are behind Home Depot. 3475 W Devonshire. The building says AuctionPros. We typically sell everything online, so the shop isn't a walk-around retail location, but the set is being stored in the front of the shop, if you would like to see it. Hope we see you soon!

I know this conversation pretty much just died but I also have a really nice arm desk chair with this stamp and am amazed I can't find anything on the internet as well. It is really nicely built.

Just bought two of these chairs at Goodwill for $9 each. Love them but that crazy CB/GB diamond trademark has me stumped. Don't suppose there are any new thoughts on what that trademark stands for.? The only thing close looked like maybe "Conant-Ball" but their furniture tag wasn't close. Hmmm...

rtrindt, I have an identical chair. I've discovered through a MCM forum on Facebook this past week that it's a Jens Risom. here's an identical one for sale in the UK which attributes the design to Risom; mine of course has a different fabric, as mine is also reupholstered.

My chair is pictured.
I'm pretty confident that the GB or BG mark on the underside is the manufacturer, so my search has led me to this forum. If I can find anything, I'll be back to post what I find.

The 'GB'/''BG' mark is almost certainly the manufacturer.
And I have to say that the attribution of the chair to Jens Risom on that site is not very persuasive. And I think for most of Jens Risom's career he was enough of a somebody for it not to be too likely that something by an unknown manufacturer slipped through the cracks. It really has the appearance of an attribution made for financial gain.
It is interesting that a piece that looks so American turned up in the UK, althoughI suspect that is simply because someone bought a chair in the USA and brought it with them to the UK.
