I got this set of four side shells with stacking bases for $150 off of Craigslist. The chairs are in nice shape, glossy with no cracks, dings. I will need to find replacement feet for all four though. Three have embossed HM logos and paper tags, and one has just a paper HM tag with no other logo on the shell, and is also just ever so slightly a different color than the other three, but it will not bother me, since it is hardly noticeable. They are kind of a tan color.
I was wondering if the one with no logo might be early, from the 50's?

Keep the vintage
I'm sooo tired of the Eiffel/Dowel bases. They are like a trendy color...it's fun at first, but then you see it everywhere, on everything, and you start missing the good old simple colors.
I've had a few chairs come through my hands that don't have labels or embossing. It's my understanding that different time periods had different embossings done. The earliest ones had none. I've seen them mixed up in sets before too, usually if someone got a set they would grab from the stock at hand, attach the bases, and ship them out.
Thanks for all the...
Thanks for all the information. I think that the chairs will probably actually be most useful to me if I can stack them. I already have a set of six Moller 71 dining chairs, and the house is kind of small, but I have a sort of studio/workspace where a stack of chairs could be useful. Everything I find on Craigslist either ends up in my house, or sold so I can fund some other piece (the four Folke Palsson chairs I got recently for $40 funded 50% of the six Moller chairs). If I end up parting with these, it would probably be to help purchase a really nice armshell.
