Wow...$400.00 for this rather rare clock, but the orange color's coming off. Not worth $400.00 to be sure.

I saw both of those
but didn't want to post them on here in case any of you were bidding. Joel, yours is really cool, congratulations.

I was bidding on the wood clock too
but let it go.
Does it have a label or number on the back? It's probably a Meridian clock, if it was indeed made by Howard Miller; the hands are HM/Irving Harper, for sure. It probably hails from the same time period as the Ceramic pottery Meridian clocks imported from Italy.
As far as the orange clock, I love the design (2271), but I wouldn't have any idea how to fix the orange color, and I wouldn't want to try.
By the way, I got a really nice Ball clock on eBay delivered yesterday (I won it for only $265.00)! It's the all brass model, electric with the natural wooden balls. The back is a thin masonite material with the gold Howard Miller label, so I'm guessing it's earlier than those with the number stamped zinc backing.
The only issue was it had a short chord (with the proper hole in the bottom of the brass motor box), so I simply put on a new chord (golly, it's difficult to line up those screws) and it looks and works like new. (I never had a real vintage Ball Clock...only a multi-colored clone i gave to my sister....)

The label was ripped off. It...
The label was ripped off. It has the little sticker that reads "use one battery size "D" or something like that...
For $180 I can't complain... really
Also, it's bigger than what I thought

Yea, it's beautiful
I'm running out of room on my walls (4 clocks in my study, 11 in my living room, 4 in my dining room, 8 in my large kitchen, 1 in my laundry room, 2 in my basement area, and 1 each in each upstairs bedroom).
Heavens to betsy....

wall panels
Nice collection of clocks, Joel! I am wondering about your wall panels. Where did you find them? I am pulling out the old paneling in my living room and want to replace it with something contemporary.
THanks!

Thanks for the comments.......
Thanks for the comments.... The clock collection is an addiction at this point. Still waiting for the steering wheel clock!
The panels was an idea to disguise the heavy textured drywall underneath.
They are 3/8" thick and 4 feet x 8 feet, interior grade birch veneer plywood.
They are attached to the wall using 6 fasteners per panel. I still have to do the aluminum trim between them...

The birch panels are nice looking--
but, how do you hang things such as clocks (or art)?

Panels
look good with just the crack/groove/negative space between them. Why go to the expense of having aluminum strips custom made? The whole wall looks awesome.
