Hi,
I have come across a set of 4 chairs that a seller says are teak Moller 71 chairs. They certainly -look- like 71 chairs. I'm trying to figure out how I can know for sure, though. On the bottom of the chairs there is a stamp that says "Made in Denmark" and there is also a number on each chair: 94/579, 94/563, 94/374, and 95/011. There's nothing that specifically says JO Moller, or even Moller, but it's a little hard to tell from other examples I've seen whether that is something that would have been stamped on the dining chairs anyway.
Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. I'm including a photo of the chairs and the Made in Denmark stamp.
Also, the seller has a table that she says came with the chairs. It is teak and fits well with the chairs (ie the measurements seem to fit together) but does not have a Made in Denmark stamp or a Moller stamp, just a stamp that says 2 7. I assume that this is not a Moller, or anything of note, but if anyone has an idea of what it may be based on the stamp I'd appreciate it.
They certainly look like Moller 71's to me! I have a set of ten that were reupholstered and the two I checked by removing it had no Moller marks or stamps. As Leif informed me a lot of them are unmarked. Those chairs definitely look like genuine Moller in my eyes.....but I'd wait for someone more informed to confirm it!
