I'm wanting a modern designed bed frame, any suggested postings are welcome. Any Zen, or Asian inspired designs that are clean & low are good, or simply a modern clean design.
My midcentury house had solid wood flooring installed throughout a few weeks ago & it looks awesome.

Thanks 🙂

My favorite
Zencat,
Well designed beds are difficult to find. My all time favorite is the Maly bed for ligne roset.

....
DA has done beds before-everything from the high dollar to the homemade....but seemingly nothing in between....and as an individual who sleeps on a mattress on the floor, i am interested in finding something to fit the bill without the big price tag....ideally platform, because we destroy box springs....open to pretty much anything else....

Well . . .
Anyone can buy two solid-core birch-faced doors, slap on a clear finish, gang them together with a couple of hardware-store straps, and set them on six masonry or ceramic or plastic blocks -- terra-cotta flue tiles, concrete blocks, large flower pots, storage crates, etc. You can have the same look as the Ligne Roset bed above, for about $200.

true.....
its just very hard convincing the Mrs. of a bed made of 2 doors on cinderblocks ;)....if it were up to me i would have already made one from the heavy duty wooden pallets i find behind Lowe's or Home Depot...and maybe ill just have to do it...,without a word...before she gets home...."better than the floor right, honey?"..."not as good as the couch, which is where you are going to sleep".....BRAVO!

.
This bracket does not even use nails if you have fear of tools.
Rest a couple doors on a base made of 2x12's. Big box store will
even cut the wood for you.
The Ikea Malm i've heard is a good starter bed but i would take the
200 and invest in a couple tools and learn how to use them.
Check out the pipe and fitting section. You could even add a swing-out
table to either side or both.

It is lovely.
You have no excuses. Make a bed. A cheap chipboard crap bed is 200.
Buy a few tools instead. Get recycled materials from Habitat.

Min Bed
Was my first bed. I got it from the DWR Annex in Jersey. Super sleek and minimal, but honestly the most solid bed I've ever owned. When I traded up from a full to a queen size I went out and bought a 'grownup' wood bed which I somewhat regret.

yeah on the floor is a really bad idea, mice and roaches (if you have them) are that much closer to your head at night and mould can grow really easily underneath, you don't want to be breathing that in, the spores can cause a nasty lung infection.
Use pallets, it's fine.
Rockland, that bracket is brilliant, my Mum is putting in another vegetable garden and I think Dad will be welding up some brackets this weekend.

Modern Maly bed... nice guy.
I too like that bed, it's very cool but I'm to old to lean way over to make the bed... the mattress is far away from the edge......... if you know what I'm saying.
Nearly ready to order the Lumeo bed but, I actually like the simplicity of the bed you've posted but I need to put function before form this time.
thanks for your response.
zencat 🙂
