I have bought this compact rosewood and chrome drinks cabinet. I do like it and the quality is superb - I bought it with some Merrow Associates pieces from the same house (all originally bought in Heals) but I can't figure who made this...any Merrow heads out there have a clue? Or anyone willing to have a guess?

.
Looks to me like someone attacked it with a router, some banding and jazzed it up with their own hardware, can't help with an ID.

DEFINITELY
not Merrow Associates.
Quite an odd looking piece for Heals at that time.
Looks possibly more Italian to me?

Cabinet
I have seen a Archie Shine cabinet which is very similar but with brass handles.

Archie Shine
used similar hardware in brass, but there's a little more, shall we say, 'economy of design' in their pieces.
(usually Robert Heritage designs, although I believe they also made for Heal's themselves)

yes, it's the exact model as in the picture, I agree Robert & Arthur - although there are many similarities with Archie Shine I have seen - in particular the marble top sideboard. I have an Archie Shine Rosewood dining table and the quality of this cabinet is maybe better, but certainly there has been a rather different eye applied to the piece, as this does smack a bit of neo-classicism in my humble opinion. The rosewood is such a good match for my Archie Shine and a few Merrow bits that I forgive it though.
