Fiesta vs. Fiesta
In Britain, Fiesta is the name of a very popular mid-century melamine dinnerware designed by Ronald E. Brookes, about 1960. The shapes are futuristic and the colors bold.
In the USA Fiesta is the name of a very popular glazed ceramic dinner ware made by the Homer Laughlin China Company of Newell, West Virginia.
The original shapes, glazes and concept of combining various colors were designed by the company's art director Frederick Hurten Rhead in the 1930s. Versions of Fiesta Ware are still made today.
