Greetings all,
My dearest friend and her husband are in the process of building this home, and have asked your Aunt Mark to advise on what color the front stucco (on either side of the pivoting wood front door) should be. The architect's rendering shows the surface (3rd picture down) finished in a pumpkin-spice color. My choice would be white. Another option would be Farrow and Ball Incyira blue. Any advice would be most welcome on color selection...or other design advice, natch. The home will be completed soon, and furnished with mid-mod treasures. Additional information upon request. Front facade faces North.
with love,
Aunt Mark
The color genius in my family (not me) agrees that Inchyra Blue would be a beautiful choice:

This may or may not work, but the only stucco that exists for me is the kind that is colored with earth pigments. My fave is ochre because of the way it reflects full sun. It has such an intensity! The depth of color is much greater than what you get with paint, I think. But earth pigment colors are limited and maybe they won't work with the rest of the scheme there, I dunno.
Where is the house? Oh, never mind---Georgia. They may want to not call attention to the heat so much, then.
Portland cement stucco comes in different standard colors from the manufacturer. They can also provide custom colors. I strongly recommend select half a dozen preferred colors for initial selection. Then proceed with 3 selected colors on 24"sq. mock up samples. Renderings and online colors will differ to field conditions. Take into account the stucco texture. They come in different patterns. Also, the wall area may have contraction joints. These joint can be incorporated into the final appearance of the walls. Also those walls may require coping of sort, metal or cast stone, etc. which should complement the wall finish. Hope this helps.
