A friend of a friend has one, and recently bought more from abroad. They were so inferior in build quality to the one he has (which may or may not be an original) that he sent them back.

Can anyone recommend a source ? And is anyone licensed to make Mart Stam's peices ?

The official rights lie with Thonet. They have the S-33 in their pricelist for 778,- euro excl. VAT. (that is in my Dutch pricelist)

tilanus. The linked PDF file on that page is an interesting and inclusive catalog of many steel-tube pieces -- seating and storage.
If I'm not mistaken, the chair of the friend (in the photo I was shown) would be the S 34 arm chair. In any event, I wonder (before we leave it) if anyone has experience with any well-made copies of this chair ?
