I have the opportunity to buy either a Magis Chair One or a Magis Tosca armchair in clear polycarb at over half the cost new, and without the requirement to buy them in a set of two. My question is what is everyone's thoughts on these chairs and Magis designs/products as a whole?
I am still new to the furniture design world beyond Zeeland, MI. Growing up and still living in the home town of Herman Miller, that is pretty much all I've ever known.
I know it us ultimately up to me, but I like them both as functional/artful design statements. Just looking to get some thoughts.
And I can get an even bigger discount if anyone wants to go halfsies with me on a set 🙂
thx

at cost or below
alferink28,
I generally keep my sources to myself and only buy only for me (or gifts). I also only buy what I like.
That being said should it be possible to buy at cost or below (and I was only buying single units) my choice would be the Thomas Heatherwick Spun as opposed to one side chair.
Last summer I found a dealer changing focus and purchased the remaining Magis inventory (the Spun chair was gone). I kept the Michael Young Dog House (in white for my cat) and a Stefano Giovannoni Mago broom and I gave the Javier Mariscal Piedras bench and chair and two cats along with a Stefano Giovannoni Mago broom as gifts.
I have owned the Marc Newson Dish Doctor dish rack for years and I cannot "sing the praises" enough for this piece. I also have a dozen sets of Toshiyuki Kita Garage that I have yet put into use use.
I enjoy this small Magis collection.
