Bjørn Wiinblad is his stuff considered valuable in Denmark ?
Here in the United States he did so much for the 2 Texas stores of Nieman Marcus that is where i first saw his work in the mid 60 s
When they re did the Dallas Store several years ago they took all the old tiles from the Houston store after it was redone and shipped them to Dallas to be reinstalled that says something , My mom had some of his studio china from Rosenthal, and i love this silk scarve framed the archivest said if they were making them today framed and numbered they would be around 1000.00 that is pretty cool
It depends on what we're...
It depends on what we're talking about. You can find his ceramic/china on just about any fleamarket in Denmark and his stuff is sold from a few bucks to several thousand dollars for his large, handpainted sculptures and floor vases. I've seen a lot but this scarf it new to me too.
Some more info:
Bjørn Wiinblad (1919-2006).
Dane Bjørn Wiinblad was a versatile artist who started his career painting in oils but soon expanded into a range of media that included metals, glass, stage and poster design, furniture, illustrations, textiles and, perhaps most notably, ceramics.
His unique style is immediately recognizable and is an almost iconic representation of the decades of his greatest acclaim. His work is popular the world over and especially admired in Japan.
From 1946 to 1956, he did work for Nymolle. Much of his work in this period is unsigned. In 1952, he opened his own studio with Gutte Eriksen under Jacob Bang. He did work for Rosenthal beginning in 1957, for services, vases, glass, candleholder, candlesticks, utensils, pots and ceramics.
