I just spent $39.00 for the following (at a house sale on my block)!!

$35.00 for a Eames 42" round walnut top table with standard contract base. Edge is black.

$1.00 for a 13" Zeisel Town & Country bowl in forest green...one tiny chip on the white outside edge.

$3.00 for a 9" Sgafo Modern Germany vase, all white with two nice silver rings along the bottom. Excellent condition.

not bloody bad......it made my day, to be sure.

Let's use this thread to brag about super cheap recent finds like these.

One upmanship....
Alright barry it's on
Your brag badge needs to have pictures to be fully certififed.
Tomorrow, I'll throw up a photo of a danish modern chair I scored today for $20 (needs work). Really cool raised , floating surfboard arm rest. Unsigned, I'm hoping it's a Hans Wegner...highly unlikely and probably American made.
So far as of Monday, things are pointing towards Finn Juhl (see 192 arm chair). Gotta badger about some books. Likehood is low, I never find designer stuff, just cheap knock-offs.

Very nice barry...dig the legs on the Eames table
I got my photoshoot game on early. Not very attractive being dirty and sitting in a garage. Makes for a good before /after comparison. First is today's find...second is a chair by IMC (clueless about them, far better looking in person!) from 2 months ago.

That dirty one should clean up nicely. Wonder what kind of seat you'll have made for it....

ceramics
this summer at two separate rummage sales i picked up a perfect 11" russell wright [harkerware] two-tone plate and a very nice brilliant orange 12" mccoy vase. total investment for both pieces: $3, plus my time [which i chalk up to "leisure" anyway].
[no photos...sorry.]

Unknown, Unsure
Haven't a clue about the chair(s). No thought's about reupholstering yet, preoccupied with botoxing (rejuvenating) the wood. Sexy & stylish after pictures somewhere down the line.

I thought i had the new edit down but i was wrong
I bought this at a garage sale last sunday for 30 bucks i thought it was something cause i remembered seeing it at Nieman Marcus in the 70 in Houston I called the archivest and Niemans and she told me all about Bjorn Wieblat a good friend of Stanly marcus and freagent contributor to covers and the stores.,
She said these framed silk scarves were done in a limited edition of 25 in 1968 she said today it would sale for around 1000. just cause they are rare and done on silk , not bad for 30 bucks

Björn Winblad i had the ...
Björn Winblad i had the toughest time reading his name on the scarf and when i called Niemans they could not figure it out but then they had someone who had been at the store for 30 years and new his history,
I now know too, he died last year and did lots of studio pottery for Rosenthal china, but he will be most famous for all the covers he did for Niemans and he designed the original restaurants for their stores kinda like a Alexander Girard ,

It's Bjørn Wiinblad to be correct. A world famous Danish artist who's work can be found at Victoria and Albert Museum in London and Museum of Modern Art in New York (to name a few). He's done just about everything from art, ceramics/china, stamps, cutlery, textiles, furniture, interior decoration and even the exterior of a few, large American cruise ships etc. His total production is among the largest of any industrial designer to date.

It's Bjørn Wiinblad for sure. Just about every home in Denmark has something by him. We've all grew up with his stuff so trust me.
