Okay --
anonymous ? Like a '37 Ford, say, or a locomotive or a telephone pole. . .or a river rock or a shell or a pine cone.

You're
quite right -- random is the wrong word; it has a different meaning. No, it was a very deliberate choice -- of an anonymously-designed object.

What do you think of these? Australians call them Splayds, I think Americans call them Sporks.
They're work well but I think they're ugly, like little shovels for the face.
Actually they were designed by William Mcarthur (an Australian) in 1943, so not really an anonymous design.

I had a few minutes to kill this morning...
This was too good a thread idea to let go.
Glasses that stack, obviously were never very
popular given how many boxed sets are in charity
shops, I think they're handsome.
A bamboo spaghetti canister, have tried to find
more but no luck, if I ever come across a stand
of giant bamboo I'll be hacking down a piece
and making more of my own.
A Swedish pipeholder, just a pretty thing.
Rosewood and stainless salt and pepper shakers.
Salter kitchen scales, hangs on wall and folds
up to make a flat plastic box, lid drops down,
very handy and nice graphics on the dial.
Stacking stainless steel cone shaped bowls,
use them all the time.
Some whitefriars style bark vases, the blue
is really icy and an amazing colour no idea
where they came from but they make great
lanterns too.
And an Orrefors bowl, I like the Corona range,
always good for wedding presents.

Thanks, believe me I was frea...
Thanks, don't think they're great but believe me I was freaking suprised, hand held with a 3.2 mp crappy camera with no effort at all. Just a gloss white metal side table thats allways there in front of my sitting room window which has a big piece of calico stretched across it at about 10 am in the morning on a cloudy day.
Will have a go and taking some still life arrangements next week with the good camera and a tripod.
