Oh yes!
The party was splendid, the storm was only wicked for a spell. I entertained 14 and a cat, whose lifestyles ran the gamut. I had a middle aged cross dresser in a fabulous Pucci paisley silk pantsuit (but he is straight and a neighbor..even wore a full face of max factor and quite well made clear strappy shoes), A frequently published elderly decorator (Carlton something ..?.) and his partner Johnnie who borrowed 3 books, a sweet young lady in a denim halter top/high heel ankle boots with studs/etc sporting fake diamonds glued to her tear ducts, I liked her. Her name was JoMarie I think. She wore a Timex. I had a portly female guest who tried to blend, I had somebody's well dressed Eastern European mother who immediately asked for an apron then jumped into the kitchen (looking very stylish, killer shoes). I had a very handsome bartender/server/helper who received a round of applause for looking like he was looking (hot and efficient). Somebody spent the night in the guest room (they snuck out real early ..I suspect the bartender and a guest...tsk tsk.), But mostly the food and beverage were divine, decent music, dolls, smoke, and I liked my pants. I'd do it again I think. I just don't remember. Carlton will send an orchid with a note tomorrow (the florist is closed). Then I'll know more.
Hello,
Your Aunt Mark
I was fortunate today in my Goodwill finds:
1. iTRE Ufficio Stile Eril sconce for Leucos
2. Paolo Rizzatto and Alberto Media Mix table lamp for Luceplan
3. Hannes Wettstein Spy spot wall lamp for Artemide
4. Tobias Wong Sun Jar for Suck UK
5. Ann Wärff Snowball votive for Kosta Boda
6. Gottfried, Fliedl Gustav Klimt for Taschen
7. Rainer Metzger and Ingo Walther Van Gogh for Taschen
Three locations and fifty dollars later this is good.
waffle you are correct they are colorful and I find them attractive. Hackman (pre Iittalia) Dahlstrom 98 is my cookware of choice for daily use.
A brand new Luxo LS lamp received as a gift (and very thankful for the gesture).
I love vintage classic Luxo lamps from Norway, but I was disappointed with the quality of the chrome plating of this new/current version made here in the USA. I am not sure if this happened only with the lamp I got ( while still in its original Luxo factory box), but the chrome plating around the base edges are peeling off, something I expect from a knock off and not from a $200+ original Luxo made lamp.
If Luxo had compromised the high quality standard of this classic lamp, I recommend acquiring vintage examples instead.
Three more stops and another $50.00 yields:
1. Ron Rezek Sesile wall lamp for Artemide (2)
2. Ron Rezek Dupla ceiling lamp for Artemide
3. Paul Loebach Little Distortion candlestick for Areaway
4. Copco Denmark 115E cast iron grill pan
5. Ann Wärff Snowball votive for Kosta Boda (another)
6. Frank Lloyd Wright Cinema San Diego rollerball pen for Acme Studio
This is good.
I must be one of the few that enjoy acquiring quality items daily. I know someone with a "lighting package" sconce getting a free replacement. The remainder for me.
1. Francesco, Brivio Gemini wall lamp for Nemo Slr
2. Frederik Aerts Neo coasters for BergHOFF Belgium*
3. Massimo Vignelli Max serving tray for Heller
