Aunt Mark: So sorry. Glad it wasn't Meissen. Or was it ?
Reamie: We call those "finger joints." Guess you can see why. Typically the end grain pins will show darker, as on your rear leg. Why not the front ones ? That leg might be of lighter-colored wood . . .

It matches the wallpaper and lamps in the Master bedroom. And it's probably too fancy for the living rooms. Would not look well.
Hi,
Aunt Mark
ps Versace "Hot Flowers 2008ish". If Liberace were alive...He'd dig it. Puff.

I'm so behind the times . . .
I'll bet there are restorers that could whip that baby into shape. A little Bondo, a little nail polish . . .?
I'm sorry. Robyn and Dean Johnson are so appealing, building pseudo-Craftsman getaways in the depths of Minnesota, building tooth and nail and smirking at the cameras . . . why I watch public TV.
Aak ! They're mixing three modes of dark-metal and white glass exterior fixtures. That's okay, because they're all "Transitional" (read ironic Po-Mo) . . .

Plus...
A short time back, some Gypsy Hag traded me this sweet deck-o-cards for mere nipples and dimes. It's my friend. It's my future. They're filthy.
My deal,
Aunt M.

Wow. So maybe it isn't too late for my '60s Cape Cod art-potter's stoneware mug . . .!
Decades ago I saw a miniature Tiffany transparent yellow-glass vase after repair by a specialist in New York; some form of epoxy or cyanoacrylate left almost no sign of the damage, except in certain lights. Most impressive.

Dear Aunt Mark,
And I thought my deck of Man from U.N.C.L.E. cards were cool. (I was madly in love with Ilya Kuryakin in 5th grade.)
love,
Spanky

Painted by the daughter of a family friend in the 60's. She died young, unfortunately. I have another huge painting by her of the Beatles

We were able to pry these zenith rope edge chairs off of a ladies porch! It only took me a month to convince her to sell them to me in order to keep them from rotting! Sorry Mark no lovely flowers painted on them... Reid

Charles and Ray wanted a smooth rounded edge and zenith thought "hey let's make roaping for the edge!" Then Charles and Ray said "that's dumb! Cut it out!" 3 years or so later they finally got around to changeing it.
-the end-
-fin-
Was that the story you were looking for, or the one where these particular ones came to be in my possession?

Thank you, waffle. What a talented young lady she was.
Look at the fancy dog dish I spotted at the local thrift store this afternoon! Only $4. Perfect condition.

I still have a crush on "Eb", who lived in a barn on the television series Green Acres. He had no bathroom and still managed to look cute. He was kind of tall and dumb, unlike the glamorous Eva Gabor (my favorite of those Gabor Girls). It was a simple life.
but then,
Aunt M.
