a nice piece of a wall unit. Has the holes on the side where it was attached to the frame. Might wall mount it? Neato handles. Wood under teak (not pressboard).
AND A MYSTERY ITEM - First one to guess what the odd gold item is gets, um...gets...full credit for I.D.ing it.
EDIT - and yes, I know what it is. I actually have another, similar one. Hint, it's useful

I'm getting uncomfortable just looking at that thing, Waffle. A four-way wedgie uncomfortable.

bing bing! Also called a wood grenade.
I use a variant of this all the time. It is a great way to split wood.
This one is particularly attractive. No idea why it is bronzed. I'm keeping it as a "thing"

Hi!
I went fishing and caught a 25 pound koi fish carved from petrified wood. It'll be quite tasty when grilled and served over fresh greens.
Best,
Aunt Carp

I acquired a lovely pair of Rosenthal candle holders that match my overgrown collection of Raymond Loewi Rosenthal china. Shown with the dinner (beverage) bell.
Hi,
Aunt M

I adore the fish, Mark.
Wood turned stone makes a tasty fillet.

Love all of your finds & treasures! That tapestry 😮
I have not had any luck, at estate sales and local flea markets - I'm probably not looking in the right places, or am showing up too late and all of the good pieces are gone... Sigh. The hunt continues.

I have once contacted a dealer to confirm the Cees Braakman attribution (mymodern in the Netherlands which is listed on Pastoe's website as the specialist for vintage Pastoe items). The answer was that it was not from Cees Braakman (without any additionnal explanations).
Is there any documentation supporting the attribution?

Could anyone translate the tag on the tapestry a few few posts up for me?
I have used online translators and could understand most of it (do not hang in sun, materials wool and synthetic...etc) but am having trouble with the first part specifically the line that includes the word "carton" in it.
Also, what do you make of the signature? At an angle bottom right...
Thanks...
