An Erik Buck for M.J. Madsen desk. Yes, the same Erik Buck who designed the bar stools also designed a desk. I had no idea.... In fact, I've been looking at some old catalogs, and it seems Erik Buck designed many more pieces than he is known for.
It is a very nicely made desk too.
edit: In case anybody is curious, as I was, it is documented on the Danish Furniture Index.

If this article I just found is accurate, this is the first photo of Erik Buck I have yet seen.
Again...
Friday I purchased a Philippe Starck Bubble Club 3-seat sofa, four (4) Bubble Club armchairs (two in terracotta) and a Bubble Club side table for Kartell on the secondary market.
Last month (The Last Thing You Acquired #38) was a Philippe Starck Bubble Club 3-seat sofa, four (4) Bubble Club armchairs.
The pool at my new (second) home is looking better at each turn.
That same day I also acquired a Tord Boontje O-Nest chair for Moroso, two (2) Philippe Starck Dr. No stacking armchair for Kartell, Philippe Starck Miss Balù café table for Kartell and tow (2) Philippe Starck Miss Global side chair for Kartell from the same seller.
They had more....
Since the seller had more I got four (4) Marco Bellini Arco side chairs for Heller (new and unused). I have no idea what I am going to do with these, but I am compelled to buy.
I got the Ron Rezek Bolo classic linen table lamp for Rezek division of Artemide and the Gunilla Allard Grace mirror for Studio Nito (both new and unused).
I intend to use the lighted mirror as a display base.
That was a good Friday.
Erik Buck holds a special place in my Danish Modern heart. As I was looking to buy some new solid cherry Modern Shaker style furniture from Vermont for the house I was about to buy 4 1/2 years ago, I couldn't find any dining chairs that I liked. After a couple of months of Google searches of variations of "modern wood dining chair" without any luck, I finally came across a photo of Buck's floating chair design (OD Mobler 49/50), and started learning about a design style called Mid Century Danish Modern. Luckily, I hadn't ordered any of the new Vermont furniture just yet, and the focus on furnishing the place switched immediately to trying to find vintage Danish Modern pieces (that was a faucet that I have since been unable to turn off).
A set of eight Buck dining chairs was my first purchase for the place even before I moved in. A few days later, I found out my next door neighbor was named Eric Buck.
A little while ago I re-caned a Hans Olsen modular sofa seat for a local dealer. I find in refinishing that, by the end of the process, you either hate the piece or fall head over heals in love with it. In this case, it was the latter. He had more, and I found some on eBay for a fair price, so I went on a bit of a shopping spree. I now have six chairs, three tables, three 3-seater bases and one 2-seater base. Good grief I don't know what we'll do with them all...
Picked up this original John Baughman pastel/ mix media piece of artwork. Apparently this is the guy that did alot of the artwork for Herman Miller, Knoll, Steelcase, and Neocon show rooms and corporation buildings. The art itself is 30 inch x 22 inch
It is up for trade if anyone is interested in it.
I had the opportunity to buy some very rare Adrian Pearsall pieces this week and one of them has been on my list of Mid-Century pieces to own someday (If I could find it). I bought this Pearsall chaise lounge model # 1828-C which I have been looking to find & buy for YEARSSSSSSSS (adding to my collection). I also bought this pretty rare wingback chair & ottoman model # 2231-C (last picture posted). The chair & ottoman have been reupholstered in a period favorite years ago but are in Excellent Condition. I bought both of these pieces from the original owner who purchased them out of a Craft Associates catalog in 1962. Believe it or not I already have this wingback chair & ottoman set and I only bought the new set because of the deal I was getting on buying both the chair & lounger. If anyone is interested in this extra set (chair & ottoman) that I have contact me because I am probably going to sell it. I will email pictures of the chair & ottoman to interested buyers. Not sure if I just broke some board rules but I'm sure the mods will contact me if so.... Ooppps a head of time.....
