Here's a pic of the rail. There was a paper Danish Control medallion in between the two brands. Interestingly, the brands are not consistently on one side or the other; it varies with each chair.
Just for fun I've also uploaded another CH brand photo I have. While a friend was visiting from out of state, we were at his parents' home. They live in a very typical new construction stucco type house. In the kitchen is a built-in desk and at the desk I noticed a CH-30. I asked about it and his mother said her sister sells antiques on the side and, when she said she needed a chair for her desk, told her to pick any chair she wanted. I flipped it over and, along with the CH branding, you'll notice a price from the yard sale where it was acquired: $10 in Sharpie in the corner.
I saw a matched blenko bookend in Albany today. Hum
Well, I just spent about an hour trying to id the lamps above. I didn't buy the Design Technics id. For a time thought it might be David Cressey (which would have been massively cool).
Then I found it, Bob Kinzie for Affiliated Craftsman. Stubborness pays off. The pleasure of the I.D. sometimes surpasses the pleasure of the find itself.
A pair of Lawrence Peabody armchairs for Richardson Nemschoff. As these chairs were made in nearby Wisconsin, you see them pop up fairly often here in Chicago. Most examples I've seen online are walnut. Mine might be walnut, but the light wood color has thrown me off a bit. I'm not so good on grain ID.
LCA- love the sheep with the Vikings, especially in front of that painting or print! Anytime you wanna unload any of that, lemme know. Haha
Cdsilva, might your chairs be cherry? I'm not great at IDing wood outside of the usual suspects, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the color and grain pattern. They're very handsome, btw.
I wish I had also found a Nanna Ditzel desk today, so instead I will try to console myself with this lamp I got this afternoon. I feel pretty confident that it is a Bitossi lamp, albeit in a bit of an unusual format. I also picked up a couple of old McCoy matte glaze planters at the Goodwill for $2 each.
