Nope, no fiberglass lounges...
Nope, no fiberglass lounges or LCWs here...it was a set of 670/671s, and yes, it does still feel very much too good to be true. Black leather and rosewood, according to the original owner.
One of them is missing an armrest shock mount, and both have some small scratches in the leather (cat owners). The shock mount definitely needs to be fixed before I can sit in the chair, but I was surprised by how little the leather scratches bothered me. My original plan was to keep the non-broken one and refurb and sell the broken one, but now I'm not sure - I'm loath to separate chairs that have been together for 35 years...
Anyway, I'm completely over the moon. 🙂
congrats!!
Almost better than free! And they look almost new.
I suggest consulting with Kin, our resident 670 shock mount repair expert. He has a few of these and has been through the shock mount repair process.
He should be along any minute now, drawn by these photos. I can almost feel him drooling already. PS those edges look so bright. How did they stay so clean?
I'm in West Michigan - home...
I'm in West Michigan - home of Herman Miller, so maybe that helps? I would have thought that it would hinder rather than help, because people around here might be more likely to know what they have and what it's worth. Who knows. All I know is that I'm not complaining!
Best thing in a while.
Best thing I've picked up in a while. Sibast sideboard by Arne Vodder. Tambour doors with a cabinet bar. Vodder has to be my favorite designer - such clean, strong and simple lines. Fantastic quality finishes as well.
Gotta mount that TV and spruce up the décor though.
