What do you think?
I wonder who the architect was?

The price is relatively low because of the geographic location. Not a lot of people are dying to live there, probably partly due to the severe climate and high incidence of tornadoes.
The same house in one of the tonier suburbs of Baltimore (yes, Baltimore!) would be a million dollars. Generic 1950-1960 three-bedroom split level houses like the one I live in go for what that house is priced.
Well, to be fair, the prices...
Well, to be fair, the prices of things as of late have everything to do with mortgage shenanigans and loan fraud which have f-ed up the prices of homes -- nothing to do with actual value -- present day prices are still arbitrarily high. Prices will only continue to come down, now that they aren't giving money away.
Hey whats a tornado or two...
Hey whats a tornado or two if its a nice house - we had a minor hurricane in London 20 years ago and people still go on and on about it. Spanky - never been to Baltimore but I love The Wire...can't understand what people are saying on it a lot of the time though...!
I'm sure Paulanna is joking
regarding a tornado or two. A hurricane in a northern latitude like London is like comparing chalk and cheese when talking about a midwest tornado. Two hundred mile an hour winds flatten the landscape and toss cars, trucks, and even 18 wheel trucks about the landscape like they were children's toys. 🙁
🙂 This house in my old neighborhood in Santa Monica, CA would probably start at 2.6 to 3 million dollars on that much land, perhaps more.
I hope Paulanna was joking:...
I hope Paulanna was joking: even chalk and cheese can't entirely convey the incongruence of such comparison, if it was indeed meant as comparison. Not to dismiss an appropriate ranking of catastrophic meteorlogical events - of which at least to me feel to be on the increase lately in terms of both magnitude of devastation and occurrence - but for those of us who live in the midwestern USA and who have a very real aversion to being scared, the tornado, I can assure you, still ranks right up there.
