Just found this...how's the price point? It's about 10 miles from my place. Not sure if the reupholstery job is a big deal. I'm in West Michigan. (edited by DA - link removed, pictures added)

Well it ain't an Ib Kofod Larsen, if that affects your view of price point.
It is a Dan Johnson Viscount chair.

That chair is designed by...
That chair is designed by Dan Johnson commonly misattributed to Kofod Larsen. Someone posted a catalog pic for these chairs in another thread that listed Dan Johnson as the designer. The way to tell if it is the Kodawood version or Dan Johnson is the number of screws on the backrest. The Kodawood version has just 1 and the Dan Johnson has 2.
Edit: Found the image

Hah! I didn't know about the Kodawood angle. Thanks for that.
And convenient that you can't see the back of the backrest in the photos.

Dan Johnson has some very desirable pieces, but if it's the Kodawood version I would pass. Unless it is very cheap.

back of the kodawood chair
This had been listed by someone some time ago on ETSY and it had the Kodawood label so I decided to snag the pics for reference.

The taper of the front legs...
The taper of the front legs before it meets the metal arm is very subtly different between the Selig and Kodawood versions. The Kodawood has a steeper taper.
Based on that, I would guess the chair in question is a Selig.
But I would want to confirm that by looking at the back, before I acted on it.

So...
it seems that Miami based Kodawood which apparently was owned by Seymour James Wiener knocked off a few designs including this Dan Johnson design as well as the Kofod-Larsen "pelican" chairs?

Just did a quick google image search
... and saw a number of pieces that apparently were made by Kodawood. ALL of them were highly derivative of significant designers: Ditzel, Bert England, Juhl, Mulhauser...

Yes
The Penguin knock-off and the "clam" chair are probably Kodawood's best known products

Not to muddy the waters, but . . .
. . . I just did an eBay "sold" listings search and came across a two-screw backrest attachment, but with a Kodawood tag underneath (with a bend in the label, it actually looks like "Kedawood").
For the record, I have no firsthand knowledge of either chair.
