There are two auctions on eBay with two hours left that have attracted my interest; not for buying them, but for interest in the ID of each piece. They are a lounge chair and a long four-seat sofa that look very similar to Kofod Larsen pieces for Selig (made by their Danish fabricators): #626-15 chair and #626-84 sofa.
For the chair, the two obvious differences are 1) the seat framing shape and supports: spring loop coils vs elastic straps, and 2) six back rest slats instead of seven.
For the sofa, in addition to the same details above, I can find no other case of a four-seat 90" version of this design by Selig or Kofod Larsen.
Has anyone come across these designs before? Are they vintage knockoffs of the Kofod Larsen design for Selig, or is it a vintage licensed design made by another company with some different details.
From the photos, the quality of the framing members looks to be good. For anyone in Ohio, the prices are quite reasonable for both of them right now, even as knockoffs ($100 for chair, $162 for sofa). If they were legit, then . . .
Sorry if I'm blowing a hidden gem for someone out there right now. I'd have waited on posting this and taken a flyer on them if they were around Chicago. But I have no interest on shipping large pieces that are not fully ID'ed.
Interested in hearing your thoughts.

Interesting indeed. A couple of things that jump out at me:
1) The sofa has a "button" plug, presumably covering a screw that holds the top rail of the backrest to the side. This would indicate that it's not knock-down as we'd expect from a Danish import piece. Could have been added later for support, however.
2) Don't most Selig sofas have those metal braces running front-to-back under the seat? They're shaped like ¯\____/¯

Good eye.
Both sofa and chair have those wood plugs at both top and bottom back rails. Many of the Selig pieces were keyhole joint breakdowns, but a few were fixed without screws/plugs.
now $183 for the sofa with 2min left . . .

Winning bids:
Chair: $158
Sofa: $255
to the same buyer.
Not a bad gamble if he/she is betting on Kofod Larsen. Not a bad price even if it is not.

webbing
I have this sofa and the webbing used on it was the pirelli straps and clips not the style shown in the picture. Also my sofa has metal supports instead of wood.

RLP, is your sofa a three-seat/four leg version, or four seat/six leg version?
Edited to add: it is also interesting to note that KL does have a fairly common four-seat design, but that is comprised of two separate two-seaters that could also be configured in an L-shaped ensemble with a corner table.

Three seater
I have the three seater four legged version. I have seen the version you are talking about with that is the four seater that can be separated.

Just an idea.
Ib Larsen...
Just an idea.
Ib Larsen designed furniture in Sweden as well as Denmark. These kinda remind me of a model called "Kandidaten" designed by Ib Kofod Larsen for OPE in Jönköping in Sweden. I would go and dig up the pics but it is late and I am tired. You can do it, the model is well known and OPE is one of the really good manufacturers in Sweden.
Anyway, I am not 100% sure, but I have seen a lot of the OPE chairs and they look like yours.
Good luck.
