Hi,
Was touring a local secondhand shop and this was standing between some cupboards.
As I am casually looking for a desk, I took an interest in this specimen, but
the kneehole design (am I right?) is a bit too cramped for me.
I took some pics, because I wanted to verify with you guys (and girls) if this is a Knoll desk.
The top is veneered in teak. The legs are teak too and are connected to each other with laminations. The drawers are laquered (looks original), inside are oak.
The connections between the two cases are metal bars, lacquered black.
Knoll was being made locally here, by the Decoene factory. They were known for their laminated wood structures, used in large architectural building projects, but also in their furniture (a lot of domus chairs were made here, for instance).
Could this be a Knoll desk, with a twist in the frame: thought out by Decoene?
Thanks for your thoughts!
