Just found my new office furniture. It was listed as "Antic Med Century" living it up in a trailer park. I love New Mexico.
Anybody ever seen one of these Kai Kristiansen for Feldballes Møbelfabrik model 54 desks with a solid teak top?
All the photos I can find show a veneer top. I was expecting a veneer top. But no, solid teak.
Thoughts?

Simon: I think I will put a bottle of Jack's cousin John Jameson in there. Did you ever find a copy of the Mobilia #1 January 1956 that features this desk?
I suppose I will likely never know if this is a custom order solid teak top version of this desk or whether the factory once offered a stock version of this with a solid teak top. (I can say that it was in production in 1960, and very likely not with a solid top as my Aasbjerg catalog shows it as veneer).

I really am dense sometimes. I forgot to check the pricelist from my Excellent Furniture Company catalog, which conveniently lists this desk. And this desk was offered with a solid teak top, for $118.00, in 1960.
So it actually is a standard manufacturer's option, and a very, very rare option if the anecdotal evidence of the other specimens to be found on the internet is any guide.
