I believe that I will request an Eames and Girard 200% Be@rbrick for Medicom Toy in my stocking "so carefully hung" this Christmas. I will ask for a Chanel 1000% Be@rbrick under the tree.

What a shameless formula--
1. Make cheap plastic toy for adults.
2. Buy license from esteemed brand name-- Chanel, Girard, Eames, Louis Vuitton, etc, etc...
3. Voila! Highly sought-after dust collector, traded for big bucks on the internet.

A more positive outlook is
william-holden-caulfield,
A more positive outlook is:
1. Manufacture a quality adult "action figure" with premium packaging.
2. Buy license from esteemed brand name - Chanel, Girard, Eames, Louis Vuitton, etc.
3. Market successfully to a small affluent niche segment for the highest possible gross profit margin.
This sounds similar to Visionaire. Another favorite of mine.
It is good to have disposable income.

And dispose of it, you will.
But, doesn't it just feel like you're on a consumerist treadmill, after a while?

on the treadmill
william-holden-caulfield,
Yes, I am on the consumer treadmill and I like the view from here.
Companies are manufacturing, the people are employed by these companies, and the ecomony is always "good to me".

The landfill is good
Olive,
You probably know the most about garbage and the landfill as I believe that is the shopping district for your "jelly jar glasses". I am pleased that you do your country and community a great service by recycling thrash into your home.

My! What a surly Ark you've become.
Actually, most of what you like is trash to my way of thinking. So I'm perfectly fine with your estimation of my possessions.

"Just In Time for the...
"Just In Time for the Holidays"
Nothing says "Holiday Cheers" than directed insults.
This could be a great holiday stress reliving thread. Let the insults fly!
I'll start!
You guys need to rub tiger balm on your nipples and relax.

Your all delusional1.It's...
Your all delusional
1.It's a glorified beanie baby
2.Everything winds up in the landfill, that's a horrible argument
If owning a glorified beanie baby makes you happy, buy it
If not owning a glorified beanie baby makes you happy, don't buy it

No!
Everything DOES NOT wind up in a landfill! If that were true, there would be no antiques. There would be no recycling; there would be no composting; there would be no natural decay.
But this is a design forum, I should go chat about environmental stewardship elsewhere...
