Just curious to know from all of you which of these 4 lounge chairs is the one you would most like to own if you don't have it already? I've sat in all of them and I have to say that the Papa Bear chair is the most comfortable but design wise I'm not sure which one looks the best, they all look great although I do feel that the Eames lounge chair is a bit overrated in the looks department. Feel free to add your all time favorite or wish-to-have lounge chair if it's other than these 4.

tulip
I own both the eames lounge chair and the pierre paulin tulip chair and I have say that the paulin is actually more comfortable. The seat angle just feels right and it wraps right around you.

If I had the room.....
I would definitely go after the Saarinen womb chair and ottoman....or the Platner lounge chair and ottoman (which is so rare...good luck finding one).
Instead, as listed previously, I went after the rare Saarinen Grasshopper lounge chair and ottoman as my lounge chair.
I stumbed onto the Aalto 400 'tank'/'Zebra' chair at a price I couldn't pass up, so now I have two lounge chairs in my living room....and no sofa, yet.

barry, is the grassshopper chair comfortable? I'm looking for a new lounge chair for my living room and after much thinking and measuring the grasshopper fits the bill best ( I did consider a womb also but they are too big for my room)
I recently picked up a book on Lautner and the chair featured in a number of the interiors, it really looked good
I was looking at the modernica version its around $1800 dollars with footstool which seems reasonable

Womb Chair!
It is without a doubt THE most comfortable reading chair I have ever plunked my butt in. Plenty of room, good head rest height, wide arms that are good for flopping a leg over and the ottoman is perfect for two legs and a cat.

Wegner Ox
Having never sat in it I can't say much about comfort - but it is the chair I most covet.
I can unequivocally say that I hate the Egg chair (weirdly upright and uneccessarily big), love the Eames, find it very comfortable, think the Womb looks like a fried egg - but is supremely comfortable!

Supremely comfortable!
I'm off the idea of a lounge chair that swivels....you don't need that rocking motion.
The Eames Lounge, the Saarinen Womb and the Saarinen Grasshopper are stationery and all are extremely comfortable.
You can buy the Grasshopper chair with confidence....you won't find a more interesting looking and more comfortable chair (make sure you buy the ottoman too).
Of course, the Womb is mighty comfortable too, but with the better fabrics, it's about twice of the price of the Grasshopper!

tough to argue with the womb
although i would own any of the four chairs in a heartbeat, the one repeatedly winning my affections is the womb chair. appropriately named, the womb makes me feel pampered, sufficiently supported and nurtured. i am reluctant to admit that when i saw one many years ago for the first time, i wasn't altogether overly impressed with the aesthetics. but my first experience in actually sitting in one made me a believer within mere seconds.
i suppose one feature this chair possesses that the others do not is a more unobstructed head area. if i sit in a high-back, head-supporting chair for longer periods of time, i experience a feeling similar to that of wearing a hat all day ... sort of restricted and encroached upon. the womb chair is "open" and spacious in this respect and suits my comfort needs perfectly!

Depends on your size
We have been fortunate enough to own or have owned all four of these designs over the years. While they are all comfortable, the biggest difference is your size and how it relates to the chair. My wife and I are both tall, she's 5 foot 11 and I'm over 6 foot 4. She loves the Eames Lounge chair, while I find it comfortable, but a bit too small. The egg chair is quite comfortable IF you get the version that tilts. Without the tilt, I don't find the pitch of the egg chair (or the swan for that matter) very comfortable for long sits. Being a tall guy, I find the Womb chair and the Papa Bear chair the most comfortable... and I mean falling asleep while reading a good book comfortable... really comfortable.
The chair that I think should be added to the list is Bertoia's Bird Chair. While it could be scaled a tad larger for me, and it's low so some folks have difficulty getting into and out of it, I have spent many hours watching movies at home kicked back in the Bird chair with my feet propped up on the ottoman. The Bird chair is also less expensive than the Egg, Papa Bear, Womb or Eames Lounge.
While all the chairs discussed can be very expensive, I'd only get real ones made by the appropriate manufacturer. The one possible exception being the Papa Bear. I've sat in the Modernica copy and I have a vintage example to compare it to. They did a pretty good job. They cut a few corners with the construction, but theirs runs around 2-3K. A fraction of what the PP Mobler chair costs and what vintage chairs are bringing at auction.
We will never be without a Womb chair. if I had to choose just one design based on comfort, I'd have to go with the Womb chair. Strictly from an aesthetic viewpoint, my favorite chair design is the Nelson coconut chair. It is my favorite chair in our collection, though I concede that it is not nearly as comfortable as some of the others.
A chair that I'd love to own someday is the Finn Juhl Pelican chair, it's like a great soft sculpture. Though I'd have to settle for a current re-issue. I can't afford the 100k one of the few known vintage examples would cost.
Edited for typos.

This brings up a good point...impossible to try these chairs
Unless you're lucky to live in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Paris or London, you're not likely going to find all of these lounge chair to "try out" for fits, as regards your size.
I'm in Minneapolis, and there is a Womb chair that I can sit in at DWR, but their Eames Lounge is on a platform display.
I doubt that there's an Egg or Swan within 200 miles.
So....it IS difficult to make a comfort decision for most of us.
And....that really sucks.
