Interesting base for Nelson bubble pendant

I like the base as is,kinda matches the brushed silver of the ceiling pieces they have.

Thanks for the nice comments! brbeard, I did consider drilling a hole as you suggested but then got caught up in trying to get the weld right and forgot about it. I also liked the idea of the cord coming out of a back leg a bit better. I'm still considering drilling a hole a few inches from the ground in the back of the front leg and having the cord exit the leg there. Heath, just above the weld is another good option to consider.
I think the bare metal is growing on me. The galvanized looks similar to H bases I have on Eames shells. The finish is actually kind of nice. fastfwd, I didn't even think about it being tough to powder coat over a galvanized surface. It was a bit of an issue with the weld as well.
