Hello,
I was hoping that someone might be able to provide some info on chairs designed by Kurt Ostervig. I've seen two, both of which were manufactured by Brande Mobelfabrik.
The first has an oval back rest that meets at points on each end. I've seen it in teak (very light and very dark) and walnut. I've also seen some with a laminated oak seat and others with a plastic seat.
The second has similar lines. The back rest, however, is not an oval and meets at points that are above center. Also, the rear legs run directly to the front seat rail, whereas the legs on the other swoop in and
attach underneath.
Does anyone know the years of manufacture, model numbers/names, or the materials used (e.g. I've seen some with a laminated oak seat and others with a plastic seats.) Are these solid? Veneer? Partial of both?
Thanks

I have four of the armed chairs in your picture, signed. I recently inherited them along with a dining room table and credenza which I believe are also Kurt Ostervig. I have been searching and yours is the only picture I have seen of these chairs. My parents puchased them late 40's early 50's. Were you able to find out any more and do you know their value? I am not quite sure what to do with them.
