I know, I'm sorry...
I wrote that after 2 martini's and I was a little more blunt that my usual level of blunt. My ire on the subject is not directed at those for whom english is not a native language. But lately I've been quite annoyed by the poor quality of english that is spoken and written by native speakers. It's as if the internet is destroying communication versus improving it.
My apologies, please carry on...
Olive, please, instead of...
Olive, please, instead of apologizing, I think instead it is best to try to blame Al Gore for everything. I find the request on DA to identify the self unit versus the shelf unit a very instructive one.
All the new empty screamers only remind me of Cobain, while ruining my tweeters. Thank god for martinis.
Ya know, Lit up?
That's a problem I've noted with shelving units for a long time. Shelving is for storage but it seems to never get used that way.
I'm just as guilty, I have a BluDot Chicago unit that I intentionally used display of my Japanese testubin teapot collection. That's all I use it for. My book are stored behind doors in a closed shelving cabinet.
The Self Shelf
oddly, the "self shelf" is an existing product. It is a bracket in book- disguise, to create the impression of floating book storage. It was launched a couple of years ago.
.. but I prefer jesgord's 8 selves on shelves. Jesgord, are those things on the top shelves vintage wooden clocks ? They look very interesting.
The wood items on the top...
The wood items on the top shelves are Evelyn Ackerman wood carvings. Examples are below
