I would be interested in the make and model of the dining chairs in the kitchen of Robert Neville's (Will Smith) apartment.

The chair looks somewhat like a crossing between Arne Jacobsen's 3103 (see link) and an Eames wire base. Dark wood and black metal. Also, the base looks like it flexes. I have never seen it before. Pretty cool.

IMDB wont let me link to the picture, but below is a link to the webpage.
Never seen the chairs before, but Urban Outfitters has a similar thing - even more a cross between Jacobsen and Eames.
Unfortunately, not very successfully paired.

Its a nice take on the wire base but would look better as a table support.
I wonder why HM or Eames didn't do this? The dowell leg base would be lovely with a disc of white formica or walnut veneer over nice ply.

Thanks
LuciferSum, thanks for the link to the picture. Yes, there they are! It's all about the base, really. The one in the photo you attached is far more conventional, or rather more Eames-like. That ruins the look completely for me. Are those two variants of the same model?
I do, however, agree with Heath that a material combo such as this would fit nicely into the Eames wire line-up.

Heath
In "Birth of the Cool" exhibit they had some prototypes of little dowel-legged tables. The ones I saw had a rectangular top, ala the wire-based table.
From what I understand the dowel legs were prone to breaking. Maybe thats why they didnt ever go into production. Or maybe they figured the wire based table was enough.
Incidentally Urban does a fairly nice looking table with the wire struts - and it looks a lot less copy-cat than the chair does.

Movie chairs
Those chair bases from the movie remind me of the chair that glassartist posted last month. I looked up the thread. It was on June 14th and everybody thought the chair seat moved back and forth, remember?
