so I found a set of four of these for real cheap! Bad news is... one of them the back is totaly broken/half missing, only one is complete...the other two have replaced pieces (the skinny spindles on the underside) a few I guess were broken at some point and replaced with similar but not quite the same pieces. So I was thinking I would take the good pieces from the broken chair and put them on the other two chairs that have replacement parts so they will be (complete) again.

Looking for advice on how I should proceed....or how to take one of these apart and put it back together.

thanks

So you want to know how to
loosen the joints on a wood chair? If I were you, I'd practice on a junky old chair rather than those. No, scratch that--I'd just let a pro do it (which I have).
That said, you tap the joints apart with a rubber mallet, or better yet, a dead blow mallet. Clean off all the old glue on all parts, do a dry run to make sure you know what goes where, then reglue with a good wood glue and clamp with the proper type of clamps.
Or, let a pro do it.
