So I can finally sit down on my chairs!
The penetrol took a week to dry (perhaps because of the humid weather we have now?)

I'm quite happy with the result even if I would have preferred not to have the 4 screws showing.

Good job, I think the screws ...
Good job, I think the screws look fine, nothing to be concerned about.
Did Mr and Mrs Eames ever use fibreglass for table tops?

The worst part was removing...
The worst part was removing the glue. I was mislead by others (no harm) to use some products but actually it was super easy with just copper scourers!!!
Copper scourers made the job easy and clean. Would redo it any day if the opportunity comes again 😉 (I live in NYC if anybody wants to donate diry HM chairs)

cleaning...
did you use anything along with the copper? I've had good luck with 'Soy-It Polyurethane Stripper' + pan scraper + hair dryer, but it still took hours and smells like rotten salad dressing...
And that bathroom rug is no more.

it looks like you really had...
it looks like you really had a tough time on that one.... I scraped most of it off. I think products aren't really the best when there's still so much padding left.
