I've spottend a LCW on an auction site. The seller says it's authentic, he still has the label (not shown on pictures) which has been fallen off or removed when refurbished. He once bought this chair from an older couple, who sold some more authentic Eames furniture.

At the moment he is not at home and unable to make pictures of the label. I showed him the picture below, but he says his (once) self-sticking label is looking different and has a size of approx. 7x1 cm on which is just written "herman miller". Has such a label ever been used on LCW chairs? It is NONE of the ones below ...

Short answer: yes
Herman Miller has used many different labels on these chairs. The label you describe sounds like the dark brown one that they used for most of the 70s and 80s. The two labels in your pictures are more recent iterations. The oval one has been used since (I think) '94. If that's not the exact year, it's close, and other DAs are sure to correct me. That's your cue, Lucifersum. 🙂 The rectangular one made its debut about 2 years ago.
