Hi, We have a Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman we're looking to sell. We have the Certificate of Authenticity and the serial number checks out with Herman Miller but when we take the foot discs off there is no text printed on the underside and someone suggested there should be, although he wasn't sure that the later chairs had this (it was made in 2007). Does anyone know and does it matter if the rest of the chair checks out?
"Domes of Silence"?
The photo below shows the "DOMES OF SILENCE" lettering (on a Sofa Compact glide, but the Lounge glides are the same). Is that what you're talking about?
If so, stop worrying.
Glides, by themselves, are not a sign that the chair is counterfeit (or genuine); after all, anyone who'd go to the trouble of forging the labels and certificate could also have bought a set of Domes of Silence glides. They're not expensive.
