Just picked this up.
Its well made, drawers are solid teak.
Local auction house had it listed as Gunni Omann.
Only markings are on the underside and read 'made in norway', which makes me doubt the Omann attribution.
Does anyone know if Omann designed for any norwegian makers?
Anyone recognize the style?
Thanks!

Gunni Omann designed for himself. I have heard unsubstantiated rumors that he designed for others, but I think it is unlikely. Generally there were two sorts of designers in the danish business: professional designers who tended to be architects with a 'M.A.A' after their name. Like Wegner, Mogensen, Juhl, Kofod Larsen, Hans Olsen.
And then there were designers who were the owners of their own shops, and almost without exception they only designed for themselves. Sometimes they hired an outside designer to draw somethings. Helge Sibast, N.O. Møller, Aksel Kjersgaard, Johannes Aasbjerg, Gunni Omann were in this category.
Made in Norway means it is not a Gunni Omann. And it also does not look like a Gunni Omann either.

Thanks leif!
I suspected it wasnt actually omann, but its a pretty sideboard and the price was very good so I couldnt pass it up.
Im guessing they lazily listed as Omann because the bank of drawers resembles those on some of his sideboards.

Can you snap some more photos? Are those knobs actually keys? And a photo of the mark?

Away from home so no pics this moment, but I found a photo online of the basic 'made in norway' stamp on the underside.
The knobs are not keys, they are round wood balls painted black. They are held in place by a 1/2" diameter teak peg.
