Help identifying this lamp  

I found a very cool lamp which I believe is made out of blown seed glass. I also think it is an earlier piece because the plug is not wider on one side like newer plugs. It has a small flat round piece of glass attached underneath with a stylized "m" with what looks to be a lowercase "r" or "c" attached to the side of the "m". The "m" is larger. I tried to take pictures of this but could not get it to focus because it is so small. I'm guessing it is Italian because of the glass but do not know. Any information would be appreciated.
