Hello-I don't know if I am using the correct forum for this question but here it goes! My husbands Aunt was na artist in New York around the 40's and she purchased a Eames Plywood black chair. She met him and he autographed th bottom of the chair. I was told that he made this chair in 1946. He signed it and dated it in 1945. We are interested in sellin gthis chair but have no idea of value and where to sell for around what it is worth. We would also like to sell to someone who will enjoy the chair! If anyone knows what to do, please let me know. Thanks!!
Auction
I'd suggest contacting wright20.com you'll get the most for your money here. Other auction houses (in order of exposure/clients) would be:
Ragoarts.com
treadwaygallery.com
lamodern.com (last resort as items typically sell below value)
You can also check with some of the other big houses who do seasonal Modern auctions (i.e. Christies, Phillips)
