Hello, all. First time on this board. Thanks in advance for your help!
I had to pick these awesome chairs up, even without knowing who the designer is. I have a rule: If there's a pair and they're different/cool, buy them.
No makers mark. Definitely need some work. But they were just too cool to let sit at my local thrift store!

Cool chairs!
They are manufactured by Thonet. Not sure of the designer.

They are similar to some designs by Giotto Stoppino and Lilly Reich (for Thonet), perhaps they were done in house.

Not only do I know where this is, I saw these chairs with a sold tag on them 🙂 For some reason I thought they were Thonet.

Saw some very similar listed on eBay, the seller mentions Anton Lorenz for Thonet.

Holy smokes, that was so fast! Thank you very kindly for your help. I love these chairs, but I have no space for them (I live in a small apartment in San Francisco). Ahhh, the conundrum that faces all of us as we come across cool finds with no home.

Yeah, they told me someone else had purchased them, and then decided against them later and bought something else instead. So you must have seen them during that time! I was lukcy enough to pick them up during their sale, so I'm a pretty happy girl. Now I just need to figure out what to do with them.
Would anyone recommend reupholsting? I'm thinking I might. The white vinyl isn't doing it for me. But the shape was just soooo cool!
