I know this subject has been flogged like the proverbial dead horse, however,I would be willing to give it a go.Given the hassle of disassembling(not to mention the expense)of shipping to Alfie at Hume or HM,I would condier a DIY fix.If so,can somebody provide a step by step guide on how to do so? Mine has a clean separation,(no splintering of wood)and I am wondering exactly what process(and what glue) has the highest success rate? I am also puzzled by the metal portion of the mount-does it screw into the metal arm bracket? Mine is still attached to it,yet is detached cleanly from the wood.I just don't have the $500 or so required to have them professionally done right now.I do have all kinds of C-clamps and tools available via my father.Any tips would be welcomed and appreciated!

Best bet
Your best bet is to email Graham Mancha. He does repair in the UK and has always been remarkably helpful with advice. Link below has the website with his spare parts (which can also be ordered via Hume if you're in the states - I dont think Herman Miller will sell just parts)
Graham's email is at the bottom of the page.

Thanks all!
I have in fact emailed Graham and he was so generous as to send me a detailed email on how to go about this relatively simple, yet easy to screw up fix.A very kind man to share his wisdom!(I also ordered a pair of leather cushion buttons)I think the most important tip I've gleaned is not to overclamp, otherwise, the epoxy will squeeze out completely,as there should be a slight glue "bead" around each mount.Well,I will let you all know how it turned out once I receive the mounts.Again, many thanks for your input!

use pc10 glue
You should use pc10 glue it is a 2 part glue that is black and very much like the original glue used on these chairs. I have used it alot on shell chairs as well as 670 with great success. There is also a glues called pc11 that is white for the shell chairs with white glues. THIS IS THE BEST GLUE TO USE.

Very Intriguing-I've heard of PC-7 and PC-11, but not PC-10
Can you let me know who makes it,as I was just on a site which carried both Pc-7 and PC-11, but never mentioned PC-10.I have also heard that E6000,an industrial adhesive is excellent,as well as 3M 5200 and even Bostik 7522.So many choices...
